~ ~ Spectacular Laya/Gasa Hot Spring Trek ~ ~

This is a moderate trek, which includes 5 days of sightseeing in Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and the surrounding valleys. Highest altitude on this trek is approximately 12,600 feet. The villages of Gasa with its hot springs and Laya are north of Punakha. No road extends from the trailhead at Tashithang up the valley as of yet and the only way to get here is on foot. Laya is a large isolated region in the far northwest of the Gasa district. The roughly 800 people of this area are from a group called Layap, who have their own language, customs and distinct dress.

  • DAY 1 Arrival Paro. Afternoon sightseeing. Overnight Paro
  • DAY 2 Sightseeing Paro including Taktsang Monastery (the Tiger’s Nest). Drive to Thimphu
  • DAY 3 Drive to Punakha with sightseeing of the Wangdi and Punakha Valleys.
  • DAY 4 Earning morning drive to trail head at Tashithang and begin trek.
  • DAY 5-11 On trek
  • DAY 12 End of Trek at Tashithang with vehicle waiting to take you to Thimphu.
  • DAY 13 Sightseeing Thimphu.
  • DAY 14 Morning at leisure to shop and explore Thimphu. Afternoon drive to Paro.
  • DAY 15 Depart Paro.

Land Cost:

  • $3000.00 USD per person for 3 or more people (April, May, September & October)
  • $3420.00 USD per person for 2 people (April, May, September & October)
  • Inquire about reduced rates for the months of June, July & August.
  • Minimum 2 persons required for this trek.
